How your young ones can contribute to recycling waste.
We at Beansprouts Gurgaon, believe in sustainable development goals. Teaching reduce, reuse, recycle early and making it ingrained can be termed as a necessary step to preserving our planet. Our 1 acre green campus gives us a lot of practical learning opportunities for our children who learn to respect the environment.
Our campus is an example ,where waste segregation is taught to the tiny tots from day one. Separate
1) trash bins for metallic waste like cans, aluminum foils,
2) bins for biodegradable waste like fruit peels, leftovers and
3) Plastic waste bins are placed all over the campus.
At home, our parents reinforce these waste segregation principles to our beanies to dispose of the trash in a proper manner. The children learn to avoid wasting water ,food and save electricity.
Encouraging children to recycle is a way of teaching them about sustainability. Learning the importance of being sustainable shows them that the environment is important. It also helps create responsible adults, with a better chance of having a decent planet to live on.
The importance of sustainability is explained through various modes like dance, plays, games and stories. Saving water, planting trees , saving paper, recycle, reuse – all this starts as soon as a kid becomes a part of the Beansprouts family. As children learn about these concepts they start feeling responsible for the planet. Sometimes we also see instances of kids correcting adults at home!
We can say that introducing the idea of recycling can be a great stepping stone to lessen waste reduction practices like zero waste and plastic free living. Teaching the kids to recycle is a good way to help ensure that the upcoming generations will grow up appreciating our planet and understand their role in preserving it.
